Self described as “working with the weird and wonderful” with “creative outside of the box thinking” The Machining Center, Inc. (TMC) in the Bay of Quinte is a linchpin for the manufacturing industry in the region. Established in 1988, in 2017 husband and wife team of Kevin and Sarah Wolters took over the business from Kevin Wolters’ parents and since that transition, TMC has seen a lot of growth. TMC provides “full service, custom machining and fabrication” to a number of industries including food processing, medical, nuclear, automotive, and aviation, in the Bay of Quinte and globally. TMC also does a lot of R&D work for local businesses. Businesses will come to TMC with a problem and TMC can reverse engineer their problem, make the parts they need and install them, and troubleshoot to figure out what’s wrong. TMC helps create prototypes and drawings and designs and are also starting to provide more turn-key solutions to their customers. TMC’s customers include Kellogg’s, P&G, GlobalMed, and Blommer Chocolate; they work with many in manufacturing in the region.
