Sept 1988
- Dick and Arlene started TMC with a Super Max CNC Mill and a handful of manual machines. They rented an 800 sq. ft space in Frankford Cres.
Oct 1989
- Hired our first Machinist Apprentice.
Sept 1993
- Hired Licensed Machinist/ Tool & Die Maker
1994
- Rented another 1000 sq. ft. due to business growth and major contract.
1995
- Rented another 1000 sq. ft.
June 1996
- Big move to 582 Hamilton rd. with 2,700 sq. ft. finished area and 10,000 sq. ft. building. We rented the extra space out as boat storage to help cover the mortgage.
Nov 1998
- Hired a Machine Shop Coordinator. Staff was growing large enough that Dick couldn’t manage it all.
1999
- Hire Fab Shop Coordinator. We were getting enough jobs that required fab assistance to justify adding a fab shop.
2000
- Renovated the rest of the building to accommodate the need for more fabrication space and expanded the machine shop (no more boats).
- We also become incorporated.
2005
- Move from 2D to 3D technology (focusing primarily on CNC production). We implemented a design aspect to our services.
2007
- Became ISO Certified.
2008
- TMC begins using Solidworks as their primary design software.
2011
- Won Quinte Manufacturer of the Year Business Award!
- Addition 4000 sq.ft (Fab Shop and offices)
2014
- Purchased Nakamura Tome lathe with live tooling
2015
- Hired P. Eng. with plans to expand our design/ engineering department.
- S&K Agro Solutions and the Calf Canopy wins Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence. It also won The Farm Food Care Invention of the Year (this division has since been dissolved).
2016
- Purchased a 4’ x 8’ 2KW C02 Laser Cutter
2017
- Started Succession Plan for transfer of ownership to Kevin and Sarah Wolters.
2018
- TMC celebrates its 30-year anniversary.
- Dick begins to work 24 hours per week.
- TMC starts advertising TFC (The Fabricating Center)- Our welding shop continues to grow and mature.
2019
- Dick begins to work 16 hours per week.
- Hired second engineer.
- Purchased our first 3D printer. TMC enters world of “Additive Manufacturing.”
- Purchased and installed a 90 KW solar collection system. TMC now almost entirely run on solar power.
2021
- TMC Purchases a 5th axis CNC mill and 5’ x 10’ 4kw CNC Fiber Laser Cutter
2023
- Renovated existing onsite storage facility into usable workspace (1000 sq. ft)
- TMC purchases a 13 ft 200-ton 4 Axis LVD CNC Press Break
- Dick and Arlene completely exit company on September 7
- Won Quinte Manufacturer of the Year Business Award for the 2nd time!
